exhibitor to the best of our ability while ensuring a successful show for all involved.
  
 
Kentucky Wood Expo Events

Chainsaw Carving Competition  - The Chainsaw Carving Competition continued again this year with 5 carvers competing to design the perfect piece to submit to a live auction on Saturday.  The piece that raised the most money determined the winner of the competition who was Abby Peterson, Webster, KY whose carving brought a bid of $3,000 (pictured).  The money was a 50/50 split with Log a Load for Kids raising $2,575 for the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.  Special thanks to all of the carvers for putting on a great show to help the kids.

 

The Education Expo will give participants a better understanding of the many positive contributions the forest and wood industry makes to their life every day.  There will be numerous hands-on educational activities as well as displays for the students.

Additional activities include "Guess the Weight of a Log" where the prize for the closest guess will be a tablet.  The target audience is 3rd - 8th grades, but the Expo is open to any age that would like to participate. Registration is required and will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.  You can register at: https://forestry.ca.uky.edu/4-H_woodexpo  
     
Craft Exhibits

Make plans now to join the Kentucky Wood Expo this September.  Wood craft exhibitors are being solicited now for this event.  Demonstrate your craft and receive a discounted booth rate.

The craft exhibit booths are 10' x 10' or 10' x 20', inside spaces with one table and two chairs furnished per 10’ x 10’ booth.  The charge will be $100 for a 10’ x 10’ booth and $150 for 10’ x 20’ booth.  Additional tables will be limited and are $20 each.  Craft exhibits will be in a covered pavilion or an outside space is also available.  Electricity is provided, but you must bring your own extension cords. 

You are responsible for loading, unloading, and set-up of your exhibit.  Twenty-four hour security is provided.  Special parking permits for exhibitors will be mailed with other instructions. 

Set-up for the craft area will be on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 and tear down will be on Saturday, Sept. 21 after 4:30 p.m.  The gates will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
