The Kentucky Forest Industries Association is proud to work with Van Meter Insurance to look at ways to assist members with insurance needs at reasonable rates. Van Meter has been a long time partner and is endorsed by KFIA to assist all members with insurance needs.  We continue to work together closely to meet the insurance needs of our members and provide additional funding for association programs that benefit all of our members and address a wide variety of insurance needs.  

Van Meter Insurance has the ability to write insurance into the self-insured Forest Industry Workers’ Compensation Fund that offers very competitive rates for those manufacturing members that meet the requirements.   The cost of worker’s compensation for logging continues to be a major issue in the wood industry. KFIA continues to support and look at ways to reduce the current high rates.  The Association has been responsible for establishing a mechanized logging rate that has been very successful in reducing costs and continues to work with our logging force to improve rates.

 Landowner and Hunt Club Insurance

An insurance program for forest landowners is available to KFIA members through Assured Partners NL to cover liability for landowners and hunt clubs.  This program offers very reasonable rates to make sure that both owners and those leasing lands are properly covered for any liability issues.  For additional information contact the KFIA office.    

Kentucky Tree Farmers can also get coverage liability coverage for woodlands as members of the National Tree Farm Program which the Association cosponsors in Kentucky.  Coverage under the Tree Farm Program is available through Outdoor Underwriters Inc. and additional information can be found at https://atfs.outdoorunderwriters.com/default.aspx
